In July 2021 I’ve reached the summit of Lenin Peak (7134 m/23405 ft), a peak being a part of Snow Leopard, the 5 highest mountains of the former Soviet Union. This was my first ascent above 7,000 meters and test of myself at that altitude. The mountain, considered an non-technical 7000 m summit, is indeed technically easy, but the main obstacle on it turned out to be the weather: frequent snowfall and wind made the ascent of Lenin Peak 4 weeks instaed of the planned 2,5. Not only beginners, but also experienced Himalayan climbers were waiting for the weather window. On July 26, 2021, during perfect weather window, I’ve summited safely on the top.
